Maintenance Supervisor - PCI

We are growing and excited to add a Maintenance Supervisor. This is a key hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all maintenance activities within the St. Louis plant. This position ensures the reliable and efficient operation of all production equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure, directly supporting the Plant Manager's goals for production quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence to minimize downtime and maximize operational output.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises, trains, and develops a team of maintenance technicians, including scheduling work, assigning tasks, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Manages the execution of all preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues on production machinery and facility equipment.
- Ensures all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards, working closely with the EH&S department.
- Manages the maintenance work order system (CMMS), prioritizing tasks, tracking completion, and analyzing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks, ensuring consistency and quality of work.
- Manages the spare parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing parts to ensure critical components are readily available while optimizing inventory levels and costs.
- Responsible for the oversight and coordination of all facility grounds and exterior maintenance activities, including landscaping, snow removal, and related site services. Manages third-party contractors by scheduling work, verifying scope completion, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards. Serves as the primary point of contact for grounds service providers and ensures site conditions support safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations year-round.
- Collaborates closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Front Office departments to coordinate maintenance activities, support new equipment installations, and address operational issues.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve equipment performance and longevity.
- Assists the Plant Manager in developing and managing the maintenance budget, tracking expenditures, and providing input for capital equipment planning.
- Maintains accurate records of all maintenance work performed, equipment history, and calibration activities.
- Participates in plant safety committees and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Supports the Plant Manager in achieving overall plant KPIs related to safety, quality, production efficiency, cost control, etc.
Overall People Management Responsibilities:
- Coaches, mentors, and motivates maintenance staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Participates in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of maintenance technicians.
- Ensures team adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a liquid fill chemical manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, and HMI interfaces.
- Experience developing and managing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in liquid fill manufacturing maintenance.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills.
- Certifications in maintenance specialties (e.g., electrical, HVAC, welding).
