Night Shift Maintenance Technician - PCI

We are growing and excited to add a Production Line Maintenance Technician to the team who will perform various activities necessary for assuring compliance to company policies and procedures by performing core functions of quality oversight in the production environment.
The Production Line Mechanic is responsible for the setup, routine maintenance, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repair of liquid fill production line equipment, including fillers, cappers, and labelers. This position also supports pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including variable frequency drive (VFD) systems, AC/DC motors, and electrical circuit troubleshooting. In addition, this role supports basic facility and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
While the role will require training on day shift for the first few months, this is strictly a night shift position long term. The standard schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 2:45 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.
Production Equipment Maintenance
- Perform setup, changeovers, and startup of production line equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on production lines and batching equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electrical circuits.
- Repair equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Communicate maintenance needs and equipment status to production personnel and leadership.
- Train and guide operators on basic preventive maintenance practices.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
Facilities & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform basic facility maintenance including minor repairs to lighting, doors, fixtures, plumbing, and building components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, maintenance spaces, and common areas.
- Support exterior grounds upkeep including trash removal, basic landscaping, and general site cleanliness.
- Assist with snow removal, salting, and seasonal grounds maintenance as needed.
- Identify and report facility and grounds safety hazards.
- Support contractors and vendors during facility maintenance activities.
SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience required (food, chemical, or pharmaceutical preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems (AC and DC)
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and industrial control systems preferred.
- Experience with plant support equipment (boilers, air compressors, pumps, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Performance Expectations
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Work in industrial manufacturing environment conditions
- Strong attendance and reliability are essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on production needs.
